MEDICINE PROGRAM

At Pleven Medical University

MBBS PROGRAM (6 YEARS)

Medicine has been taught in English at Medical University Pleven since 1997 and was the first English taught medicine program in Bulgaria. The program has grown in scope and scale and now the university welcomes around one hundred and seventy students per year from all over the world.

The program opens the door for hundreds of students who share the passion and determination for a career in Medicine. Designed for students graduating from high school, the program is a combined undergraduate and graduate education in medical science.

The program is six years in length comprising of three parts:

• Pre-Clinical Studies
• Clinical Studies
• A one year internship

Criteria to Apply

Applicants should submit the following:

  1. An application form and a CV.

  2. A secondary school certificate including results. The certificate should be translated into Bulgarian and authorised at the Bulgarian embassy.

  3. A medical certificate issued less than one month prior to the application date. This certificate must also be translated and authorised by the Bulgarian embassy.

  4. A certificate stating that the applicant has the right to pursue education at a higher educational institution in their own country. Again, this will need to translated and confirmed by the embassy.

  5. Four recently-taken colour photos in passport size.

  6. Copy of international passport.

  7. A document stating you are eligible to continue your university education in your own country

      a. All applicants will need to have this document legalized and issued with an apostille certificate. If your country is not able to issue apostille certificates this document must be legalized in your country and also legalized by the nearest Bulgarian embassy.

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS: 6.0 or

  • TOEFL iBT: 60 or 

  • Cambridge First Certificate: Pass
